Sirikoi Spirit and Legacy

Sirikoi is more than just a beautiful safari lodge: it is an important chapter in the history of nature and wildlife conservation in Kenya. Our story is based on a life-long passion for wildlife and a commitment to protect the land and its people. This spirit is at the heart of the Sirikoi philosophy and, from our founders Willie and Sue Roberts on, have created a legacy that will continue for generations.

Willie & Sue Roberts

Willie and Sue Roberts are the founders and owners of Sirikoi which was started in 2003. They poured their heart and soul into the lodge, and it shows. The family has been in the safari industry for over 40 years, guiding safaris across the continent and developing lodges across Kenya. Sirikoi is the third lodge Willie built, his first being when he was just nineteen, Sue’s passion for botany has resulted in beautiful grounds, rare creepers adding character to chimneys, and the organic vegetable garden – which is said to be the most impressive of any lodge garden in Kenya.

The Team

A large team of wonderful staff work behind the scenes to look after our 18 guests. Most of the Sirikoi staff are from the neighbouring villages and have worked at the lodge for years, learning new skills along the way. There is a great sense of pride in being part of Sirikoi, which shines through their cheerful and friendly service and attention to detail.

The Future

Sirikoi is steeped in tradition, legacy and heritage, but it is also busy building for the future. True to the visionary approach of its founders, with improvements to the lodge and the guest experience, our lodge is now focusing on strengthening further their impact.

In 2024 we established the Sirikoi Trust; to help us expand the work we do with Conservation and Community. The goal is to remain a model for the future generations, without forgetting the past.

We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights here and it is utterly exceptional. 5* service - nothing is too much trouble. The food is first class and so much of it is sourced from the incredible kitchen garden (shamba) which is definitely worth a tour. Wonderful game drives - we were lucky enough to see many elephants, black and white rhino in abundance, lion, gerunuk and so much more. Wart hog and impala come in and out of the garden. The attention to detail is second to none and I wish we were still there!

This was my third African safari and, by far, this was the most beautiful of the tented camps I visited! Elegance, nature and an exceptional staff ensures a great experience. Dining among the trees watching herds of impalas, elephants and the local giraffe pass by is amazing. The tents are private and luxurious! Staff are super friendly and accommodating and genuinely seem happy to be there. Drivers are exceptional at spotting and finding the elusive animals! If we could live there we would!!!!

Incredible. Everything about this place is wonderful. The accommodations, the wildlife viewing, non game-watching activities to fill the time between morning and evening rides, but most of all the staff. Make sure and do the back-of-house tour and if interested the Bush Walk and/or the Forest Walk where you end at a waterfall for a swim!
